About The Position

A warm, engaging family in Greenwich, CT, with a summer home in Montauk, is seeking a long-term, collaborative nanny to join a dynamic household. The mother is a stay-at-home and works closely with caregivers in a tag-team, partnership-based approach. The family values communication, structure, creativity, and emotional intelligence, and is deeply invested in raising thoughtful, confident children. The children are a boy aged 4.5 and a girl aged 2.5. Both are in school until 11:30/11:45 am. The general schedule is Monday through Friday from 11 am to 7 pm with flexibility to stay late, come early, or overnight with notice. The candidate is expected to travel with the family and can go home on days off when in Montauk. The family is flexible and can offer an additional day off during that time if needed. This position is open to local candidates only, please.

Requirements

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
  • Valid passport
  • Flexible with the schedule
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. – Must be able to drive a large SUV safely
  • CPR/First Aid certified – pool safety knowledge preferred
  • Pet friendly – The family has a small dog
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Prior experience with pre-school and toddler-aged children
  • Willingness to follow parental guidance and household style

Responsibilities

  • All aspects of full-charge childcare
  • School pickup and transportation to activities
  • Preparing school lunches, snacks, and meals as needed
  • Engaging children in creative, imaginative, and developmentally appropriate play
  • Supporting emotional regulation, communication, manners, and boundaries in a warm but firm manner
  • Child-related housekeeping, laundry, tidying, and organization of children’s spaces (everything has a place)
  • Working collaboratively with parents and other staff
  • Supporting transitions, changes in routine, and evolving family needs
  • Travel prep, pack/unpack
  • Create a screen-free, creative, and nurturing environment for the children to thrive.
  • Encourage imagination and curiosity, learning through play
  • Assist with language skills and proper enunciation
