In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this is a full-time position assigned a 40 hour schedule each week. The work involves considerable manual labor throughout the work shift as well as the application of a variety of skills. Personnel are required to exercise problem-solving skills in diagnosing and resolving a wide range of mechanical problems.

  • Functional reading and basic math skills as evidenced by a High School Diploma or GED certificate is required.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license.
  • Technical school or vocational training strongly preferred.
  • Work experience is strongly preferred in three or more of the following areas: Building automation systems controls (Trane/Niagara), Centrifugal Chillers, Air Handlers, Electrical, Low Pressure Boilers, Plumbing, Carpentry.
  • Uniforms, tools, and safety equipment is provided by the College
