About The Position

The Master of Social Work Program at California State University, Stanislaus is administered and governed as a graduate Department within the College of Education, Kinesiology, and Social Work. The Program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. The focal concern of the Program is to prepare professional social workers capable of utilizing an integrative practice framework to engage with diverse populations to advance social justice.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work Degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program.
  • Five years of post-MSW practice experience, with three years in Public Child Welfare.
  • Functional knowledge of child/family issues and Child Welfare programs.
  • Academic teaching or social service training experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer and software knowledge and skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Social Work Practicum Educator (Field Instructor)/Liaison.
  • Five years of post-MSW practice experience in Public Child Welfare in a progressively responsible administrative position.
  • Familiarity with approaches to supervision.
  • Experience with learning management systems, such as Canvas.
  • Experience with social work pedagogy.
  • Knowledge of current trends and issues impacting learning in higher education.
  • Familiarity with the Council on Social Work Education accreditation standards and competency-based education.
  • Experience teaching in graduate level education.
  • Clinical Social Work License or other specialized credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Establish networks and collaborate effectively with the university, students, faculty, Child Welfare Agencies, and community partners.
  • Teach and mentor a diverse student population in social work.
  • Facilitate courageous conversations and navigate conflict resolution strategies.
  • Commit to the pursuit of social justice and understand social and cultural issues in the central California region.
