About The Position

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated candidate for its Full-Time Instructor - Computer Information Systems position in the Cybersecurity & Related Technologies department of the Academic & Student Affairs Division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College's Main campus, just South of downtown Atlanta, Ga. Under general supervision of the Dean of Cybersecurity & Related Technologies (CIS), the Full-Time Instructor - Computer Information Systems will teach in person in areas such as A+, networking, security, cloud, Linux, programming, databases, or ITSM. Successful candidates bring current industry experience, a student-first mindset, and one or more relevant industry certifications aligned to the specific CIS course or courses taught. Sections may be scheduled mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends based on department needs and availability. Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:

Requirements

  • Master's degree in information technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
  • Current industry certification or certifications aligned to the course or courses taught.
  • Two (2) or more years of recent, relevant professional experience in the subject area.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to support diverse learners.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced certifications in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or Cybersecurity.
  • Prior college teaching or corporate training experience.
  • Experience with hands-on labs, competency-based instruction, and certification preparation.
  • Familiarity with IT service management practices, cybersecurity frameworks, and modern cloud or endpoint environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, outcomes-aligned instruction in person on the ATC campus.
  • Prepare syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments that map to course learning outcomes and related industry certifications.
  • Evaluate student work with timely, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate grades and attendance in the college LMS.
  • Hold regular student support hours and communicate proactively about progress and expectations.
  • Integrate hands-on labs, case studies, and real-world scenarios appropriate to a two-year technical college audience.
  • Coordinate with the Associate Dean on curriculum alignment, assessment, and continuous improvement.
  • Follow all college policies related to academic integrity, safety, accessibility, and records; and
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
