About The Position
The Instructional Paraprofessional at Wilcox Elementary plays a crucial role in supporting the educational development of students, particularly those facing academic or behavioral challenges. The primary responsibility of the Instructional Paraprofessional is to provide instructional assistance to students, working closely with both individual students and small groups to enhance their learning skills and academic performance. The Instructional Paraprofessional will work under the direct supervision of a classroom teacher and the building Principal, ensuring that the educational needs of students are met effectively. The work environment is primarily within the classroom, where the paraprofessional will engage with students in various instructional activities. This position requires a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive atmosphere that encourages student participation and growth. The paraprofessional will also be responsible for monitoring student progress and providing feedback to the teacher regarding student performance and behavior. This is a full-time position, requiring 6.5 hours of work per day over a nine-month employment period. The starting salary for this role is $13.54 per hour, and the position is open until filled, with a start date as soon as possible.
