Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with food production and service, sanitation, and safety.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with residents and staff.
• Compassion and genuine care for the elderly.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
• Excellent organizational, motivational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage stress in a constructive manner.

• Previous supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the meal service to residents, families, and guests.
• Ensure quality customer service is provided by designated community staff.
• Ensure prompt service to all residents' tables with professional presentation.
• Maintain and clean meal service areas on a per shift basis.
• Communicate with the Culinary Services Director, Health Services Director, and Executive Director to ensure adequate daily coverage for meal service.
• Assist Culinary Services Director with training and instruct staff on technical issues and policies.
• Attend staff meetings as required.
• Direct resident, family, and guest feedback to community leadership.
• Complete all server pre-service and post-service work.
• Assign sections and tables to Health Services staff.
• Oversee the cleaning and preparation of the dining room and tables.
• Reset tables, linens, and ensure condiments are filled.
• Ensure drink station and/or salad bar are set according to department policies.
• Take orders for meals and ensure Health Services staff take orders using excellent customer service skills.
• Serve and oversee the service of residents and guests.
• Manage guest reservations and ensure the Private Dining Room is cleaned and set for reservations.
• Complete all cleaning checklists and responsibilities per community policies.
• Set up and deliver room trays as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents' personal information.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive customer service environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
