About The Position

The Head Cashier at Lowe's is responsible for overseeing the checkout area, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring efficient transaction processing. This role involves monitoring self-checkout registers, assisting customers, training associates, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment. The Head Cashier plays a crucial role in enhancing the customer shopping experience while managing cash register operations and supervising the Front End team.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for information management.
• 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in identifying and selling products based on customer needs.
• 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier.
• 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously.
• Proactively greet and engage with customers to recommend products and services.
• Provide SMART customer service by understanding customer needs and assisting with merchandise selection.
• Use a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines.
• Coach, develop, and train associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards in the store.
• Inspect returned merchandise for damages and manage cash drawer limits.
• Detect signs of shoplifting and communicate security risks to management.
• Prepare the register area at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring functionality of registers and stocking supplies.
