The position involves assisting customers at self-checkout registers, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a clean and safe store environment. Responsibilities include monitoring self-checkout registers, engaging with customers, processing transactions, and maintaining the register area.   • Monitor and identify customers needing assistance at self-checkout registers.
  • Approach and interact with customers to recommend products and services.
  • Engage with multiple customers simultaneously at checkout.
  • Move throughout the checkout area to ensure accurate transaction completion.
  • Provide SMART customer service through execution of company policies.
  • Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, and selecting merchandise.
  • Respond to customer and employee questions knowledgeably.
  • Use a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds.
  • Coach and train associates in departmental duties.
  • Remove security tags and bag merchandise for customers.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct them as needed.
  • Open additional registers to ensure coverage.
  • Prepare register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies.
  • Inspect returned merchandise for damages.
  • Record items used in the store on the store use lists.
  • Monitor cash in drawers and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Detect signs of shoplifting and communicate them to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas.
  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer.
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology.
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store.
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field.
  • Less than a year of retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting.
