About The Position

The position involves assisting customers at self-checkout registers, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a clean and safe store environment. Responsibilities include monitoring self-checkout registers, engaging with customers, processing transactions, and maintaining store standards. The role requires physical activity such as standing, walking, and lifting, as well as the ability to handle customer inquiries and provide product information. The individual will also be responsible for training and coaching other associates, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and performing various tasks to support store operations.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for information management.
• Less than 1 year of experience with retail technology such as smartphones and tablets.
• 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in identifying and selling products based on customer needs.
• 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier.
• 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store.
• 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers.
• Proactively recommend products and services to customers.
• Engage with customers to provide assistance and ensure accurate transactions.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register.
• Coach and train associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities.
• Inspect returned merchandise for damages and manage stock levels.
• Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards in the store.
• Detect signs of theft and communicate security risks to management.
