About The Position

We welcome individuals who have recently completed or will soon complete an undergraduate (or associates) program to apply to our paid training program in preparation of transitioning to a full territory Technical Consultant position. These positions are available across North America. Allow your passion for improving lives to shine in this role where you support the Patient Care & Monitoring business. You will develop foundational technical, professional, and customer engagement skills required to install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and support patient monitoring solutions in hospital environments.

Requirements

  • You have recently completed or are an upcoming graduate with a Bachelor’s or an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
  • You have a strong aptitude and training in IT technology (preferred).
  • You have a strong interest in healthcare technology and customer-facing technical roles.
  • You have a willingness to learn, accept coaching, and progress through a structured development program.
  • You have the ability to obtain required certifications during the program (e.g., networking or Philips-specific training).
  • You must be willing to relocate within the Service Zone upon promotion to Technical Consultant after the successful completion of 6-12 months of training, depending on individual progress and business needs.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this Field Service position.
  • You must be able to: Work in an office/home office and/or remote setting, as well as in a hospital/healthcare environment; adhere to requirements.
  • Travel within the local region and to training centers required; overnight travel may occur.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 30 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance).
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, based on training or customer needs.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is preferred.
  • You’ve acquired prior field service or hospital experience (not required but beneficial).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured Field Engineer Program combining classroom training, virtual learning, labs, and on-the-job training, supported by mentoring, coaching, and regular progress reviews.
  • Demonstrate continuous learning by completing required certifications, training modules, assessments, and readiness milestones.
  • Learn to install, configure, test, and troubleshoot patient monitoring systems and supporting IT infrastructure in clinical and non-clinical hospital environments.
  • Develop foundational knowledge of hospital workflows, clinical environments, and patient monitoring use cases.
  • Support multi-phased system implementations under supervision, including system build, configuration, validation, and go-live activities.
  • Apply standard processes, tools, and quality practices aligned with the Philips Excellence Process Framework.
  • Assist with technical documentation, system designs, configuration records, and testing results.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency while supporting implementation and validation activities.
  • Shadow and support senior Technical Consultants during customer engagements to learn best practices for customer communication and issue resolution.
  • Represent Philips professionally while interacting with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Approximately 70% travel across the specified geography is required.
  • The average driving time is 1-4 hours daily.
  • Occasional overnight stays and travel by air and/or train may be required.
