About The Position
Pasadena City College is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Licensed Vocational Nursing Instructor to begin in the spring of 2024. This position is integral to the Vocational Nursing program, where faculty members are responsible for ensuring that educational goals and objectives are met while maintaining compliance with the California Board of Vocational Nursing. The role requires a strong commitment to both academic and clinical nursing leadership, focusing on student retention, educational planning, performance evaluation, and program reporting. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for a diverse student body, including those from underrepresented demographics in the sciences. The successful candidate will engage in various responsibilities, including teaching classes, participating in professional development, and contributing to curriculum development. They will plan learning experiences, prepare evaluation materials, manage schedules, and maintain student records. Additionally, the instructor will be expected to motivate students, assist with remediation, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve program goals. Participation in faculty meetings, recruitment efforts, and maintaining relationships with clinical partners are also key components of this role.
