About The Position

Berklee College of Music is seeking a full-time faculty member for its Songwriting Department. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience as a creator with recognized artists or labels.
• Teaching experience at the college level preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the craft of songwriting and its processes.
• Thorough understanding of the music business and its evolving trends.
• Command of DAW technology for teaching purposes.
• Proficient in lead sheet preparation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Expertise in Pop, R&B/Hip Hop, or Latin Pop genres.
• Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in songwriting and production, focusing on business and career development.
• Advise students and perform related duties as outlined in the faculty agreement.
• Participate in college service and professional service activities.
• Serve on committees as assigned by department leadership.
• Engage in diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility programming.
• Attend college-wide events and department meetings to contribute to the faculty community.
• Develop course content and supplemental materials adhering to a structured curriculum.
