About The Position

This on campus full-time faculty position includes didactic and/or clinical teaching in the Fones School of Dental Hygiene. Curricular management/assessment, student advising, and faculty mentoring are also included. This is a non-tenure track position and appointment to academic rank and salary are dependent on demonstrated scholarly achievement, teaching, and clinical experience. This is a 12-month, full-time position.

Requirements

  • Masters of Science degree in relevant discipline.
  • Three years of experience in teaching at a collegiate or university level or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Current Connecticut Dental Hygiene License or eligible for
  • Current Connecticut local anesthesia or eligible for

Responsibilities

  • Didactic or clinical teaching assignments in the entry level on campus program
  • Ensure that the mission and objectives of the Fones School of Dental Hygiene are fulfilled.
  • Teach a minimum of 15 credits per semester (didactic or clinical) for fall and spring semesters and a minimum of 12 credits in the summer.
  • Demonstrate and maintain current subject area knowledge.
  • Serve as a member of the University of Bridgeport, College of Health Sciences, and program committees.
  • Participate in Community Day, commencement ceremonies, admission events, and other required school and program meetings.
  • Communicate with other departments of the University.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director or Dean.
  • Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
  • Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
  • Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
  • Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.
