About The Position

This on campus full-time faculty position includes didactic and/or clinical teaching in the Fones School of Dental Hygiene. Curricular management/assessment, student advising, and faculty mentoring are also included. This is a non-tenure track position and appointment to academic rank and salary are dependent on demonstrated scholarly achievement, teaching, and clinical experience. This is a 12-month, full-time position.

Requirements

Masters of Science degree in relevant discipline.
Three years of experience in teaching at a collegiate or university level or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
Current CPR Certification
Current Connecticut Dental Hygiene License or eligible for

Responsibilities

Didactic or clinical teaching assignments in the entry level on campus program
Ensure that the mission and objectives of the Fones School of Dental Hygiene are fulfilled.
Teach a minimum of 15 credits per semester (didactic or clinical) for fall and spring semesters and a minimum of 12 credits in the summer.
Demonstrate and maintain current subject area knowledge.
Serve as a member of the University of Bridgeport, College of Health Sciences, and program committees.
Participate in Community Day, commencement ceremonies, admission events, and other required school and program meetings.
Communicate with other departments of the University.
Other duties as assigned by the Director or Dean.
Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.
