About The Position

The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. College of DuPage seeks a full-time, tenure track faculty member to teach Computer and Information Science (CIS) courses starting in August 2026. The successful candidate will teach courses in Software Development and other related areas within the Computer and Information Science discipline. CIS is a broad and evolving department that includes programs in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, Game Development, Software Development and Web Development. Applicants must have deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and demonstrate proficiency in multiple software development platforms and programming languages such as C++, Python, Java. The selected faculty member will collaborate with colleagues and provide leadership in advancing one or more programs through curriculum development, program innovation, technology integration, industry and community partnerships, and student engagement initiatives across CIS programs. We are actively seeking innovative, collaborative colleagues who regularly examine their pedagogy and practices in order to foster more equitable, accessible, and inclusive student learning. Faculty duties include classroom instruction, assessment, curriculum development, advising students, professional inquiry, committee work and engaging with instructional technology. Teaching assignments may include various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and/or blended formats during days, evenings and weekends. Faculty positions may not be fully remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field and/or a combination of education, training and tested experience required.
  • A combination of 5+ years of teaching and industry experience in computer science or related field required.
  • Software development experience is required.
  • Applicants must have deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and demonstrate proficiency in multiple software development platforms and programming languages such as C++, Python, Java.
