The full-time faculty and program director for cybersecurity, computer science and data analytics, for the School of Business and Technology is responsible to the Dean of Business and Technology in the performance of all instructional and administrative responsibilities assigned. The program director and faculty member is committed to academic excellence in all areas of teaching and learning including theory and application. The program director oversees the graduate and undergraduate cybersecurity, computer science and data analytics programs including program review and assessment, course development and evaluation; curriculum development, evaluation and revision; student admissions questions; and evaluation of student achievement including formative and summative evaluation. The program director and faculty member effectively participates in the affairs of the school, and provides professional leadership in the university and greater community. This role also includes oversight and all pertaining responsibilities to manage the Center for Academic Excellence for Cyber Defense. The program director and full-time online faculty member holds academic rank dependent upon credentials and experience. The College of Adult and Graduate Studies operates year-round with a Fall, Spring and Summer semester. The program director and faculty member will also have a teaching load in each semester.

  • Support the mission, strategic priorities, and philosophy of CCU through the integration of faith, learning, and living.
  • Oversee discipline program offerings to include program review and assessment, program affiliate faculty, course content evaluation and modifications as assigned.
  • Manage the Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense and run the cyber security club and attend the required conferences.
  • Utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies, including technology, to correlate and enhance classroom and/or field experience instruction.
  • Assist the Dean for Business and Technology with the school assessment plans and reports per school needs.
  • Produce scholarly works including course development and revision, academic and professional publications and research.
  • Engage in service to the university, the community, and the profession.
  • Teach 27 credits per year (9 credits per semester) in the Business and Technology undergraduate and graduate programs as assigned.
  • May be eligible for release time for specific programs and projects as directed by the Dean for Business and Technology.
  • Keep educational records as required.
  • Participate in department, school and university committee meetings, and training sessions as directed by the Dean of Business and Technology.
  • A doctorate in computer science or equivalent terminal degree preferred; strong industry experience in a technical field may be considered in lieu of a terminal degree.
  • At least two years of full-time online teaching experience in a baccalaureate or graduate degree program.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills related to the teaching of adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development, and curriculum evaluation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred.
  • Experience with Brightspace LMS or similar system preferred.
