The individual will be responsible for the overall supervision, protection, and care of individuals, ensuring health, wellness, and safety by managing crisis situations and adhering to applicable policies and regulations. The role also involves implementing person-centered, individualized plans and maintaining a clean and safe therapeutic environment.

  • Responsible for the overall supervision, protection, and care of individuals.
  • Ensures health, wellness, and safety by providing appropriate supervision.
  • Provides support in various settings according to individualized service plans.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized therapeutic environment.
  • Assists with personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Ensures medication is administered as prescribed.
  • Facilitates ethical decision making and supports person-centered advocacy.
  • Transports and escorts individuals on recreational activities and appointments.
  • Collects, records, and summarizes data on individuals' observable behavior.
  • Completes and maintains all necessary trainings and certifications.
  • Utilizes approved training techniques to respond to challenging behavior.
  • Provides coverage for other direct support staff as needed.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to meet essential physical demands of the position.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Basic computer skills including email and related systems.
  • Must hold or obtain and maintain SCIP-R certification within one year.
  • Must hold or obtain and maintain additional required certifications within one year.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • HS diploma or its educational equivalent.
  • Work or life experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
