  • Identify and escalate signs of potential harm to self or others.
  • Ensure health, wellness, and safety through appropriate supervision.

  • Implement person-centered, individualized plans.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapeutic environment.
  • Assist with personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Administer medication as prescribed.
  • Support person-centered advocacy and communication.
  • Facilitate ethical decision-making.
  • Plan and prepare balanced meals according to dietary restrictions.
  • Transport and escort individuals to various activities.
  • Safeguard personal allowance funds.
  • Develop understanding of specialized clinical knowledge for individual needs.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on individuals’ behavior.
  • Observe and report changes in behavior to the clinical team.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide feedback.
  • Complete necessary trainings and certifications.
  • Utilize approved training techniques to respond to challenging behavior.
  • Provide coverage for other direct support staff as needed.
  • May operate YAI motor vehicle for transportation.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to meet essential physical demands of the position.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Basic computer skills including email and related systems.
  • Must hold or obtain and maintain SCIP-R certification within one year.
  • Must hold or obtain and maintain additional required certifications within one year.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours as needed.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Van certification if required for transportation.
  • High school diploma or its educational equivalent.
  • Work or life experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • $18.00 per hour compensation.
