A Direct Support Professional (Also known as DSP, Residential Assistant, Caregiver, Home Health Aide, CNA) is responsible for providing essential support to individuals in need. This role includes light housework such as cooking, meal preparation, and cleaning, as well as maintaining personal care and hygiene routines, which involve feeding, medication administration, bathing, showering, and toileting. The Direct Support Professional will also provide transportation to and from doctor's appointments, outside activities, and excursions, and offer behavioral and social support, including managing potential physical and verbal outbursts or aggressiveness.
