About the position

We are looking for a full-time cook who is able to make soups, stocks, and sauces. The ideal candidate will have past cooking experience with the ability to follow recipes and knowledge of roasting, baking, sautéing, broiling, and braising. Proper knife skills and knowledge of food safety to avoid contamination and foodborne illnesses are essential. You will whip up delicious dishes that'll make our residents' taste buds dance with joy, catering to preferences and dietary needs while following food safety regulations. You will also maintain a clean work area and master various cooking methods to turn ordinary ingredients into extraordinary feasts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare soups, stocks, and sauces.
  • Follow recipes accurately and demonstrate proper cooking techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Handle food safely to avoid contamination.
  • Cook using various methods such as grilling, sautéing, broiling, roasting, and braising.
  • Present food creatively and plate dishes attractively.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of cooking experience in a full-service kitchen.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Serve Safe Certificate or equivalent food safety certification.
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods and techniques.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes accurately.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficiency in kitchen equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Understanding of dietary restrictions and food allergies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Creative in food presentation and plating.
