The position is for a Full Time Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) at Bronson OB/GYN, with locations in Paw Paw, Portage, and Kalamazoo. The RN will work under the provider's direction, providing all general nursing staff functions for the practice, including patient assessments, education, and support.

  • Records vital signs and provides initial patient assessment.
  • Obtains concise patient history and provides clinical information and support to providers.
  • Processes and posts information to patient's charts.
  • Provides patient and family education regarding medications, treatment, and care.
  • Assists in other areas as needed and performs phone triage of patients.
  • Prepares for patient appointments and maintains documentation standards.
  • Prepares patients for examinations including assessment, histories, vital signs, and medication reconciliation.
  • Triage calls and determine urgency and necessity of appointments.
  • Assists provider with minor and emergency procedures and examinations.
  • Schedules tests and procedures for patients in other departments.
  • Documents results from ordered tests/procedures and notifies patients.
  • Performs point of care laboratory tests as directed by the physician.
  • Coordinates admissions, referrals, and facilitates prescription requests.
  • Takes verbal, telephone, and written orders for medications from physicians.
  • Maintains and reviews patient records and charts.
  • Participates in performance improvement monitoring.
  • Assures proper communication back to other healthcare team members.
  • Attends staff and other meetings as required.
  • Stocks supplies and maintains examination rooms.
  • Familiar with various insurance and referral policies.
  • Diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • 6-12 months experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Licensed RN in good standing with the State of Michigan required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective problem solving and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, doctors, and other staff.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent computer skills with ability to read, interpret, and analyze data.
  • Sign-On Bonus: Up to $5,000.00 for external candidates.
