About The Position
Join the Magoo's Family: We are a family owned and operated Discount Pet Supply Store based out of Michigan for over 40 years. Thanks to our years of experience in the pet supply industry, we are able to empower our customers and community with the great quality products and even better prices! As a Cashier/Pets Associate, you're not only selling items to customers, you're helping pet parents find the best products that suit their pets' lives. As a Cashier/Sales Associate, your primary responsibilities will include greeting customers and assisting them with any questions or concerns they may have on the sales floor. You will be expected to upsell products to increase sales, offer special products, and encourage reward account sign-ups. Additionally, you will assist with customer checkout, returns, and exchanges, and handle all incoming phone calls to the store, transferring calls as necessary. You will also be responsible for stocking, scanning, and facing shelves for ease of display, as well as maintaining a neat, clean, and organized environment. This includes cleaning shelves, windows, the dog wash area, and floors (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping), and gathering carts inside and outside of the store premises. It is essential to learn and follow all company procedures, including incident reports, inventory procedures, coupons, and refunds. You will need to prioritize tasks and multitask when necessary, assist with additional duties as deemed necessary by the manager on shift, and take lunch breaks when requested by managers. Furthermore, you will check that all animal equipment is functioning effectively, clean and maintain all animal habitats, properly feed and water all animals, and hold and handle animals when needed. Pricing, labeling, and placing merchandise in the correct display is also part of your responsibilities, along with reporting any ripped, torn, or damaged merchandise, signs, tags, or equipment. Maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures is crucial to your role.
