About The Position

FirstLight Home Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to provide essential support and care to clients in their homes. The caregiver will assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and comfort while improving their quality of life. This full-time position requires flexibility in working hours and locations, with a focus on delivering personalized care to individuals with varying needs.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • CNA Certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ year of caregiving employment experience required.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work is a must.
  • Valid driver's license and valid auto insurance are required.
  • Reliable mobile phone with active service for documentation and communication is necessary.
  • Must be able to complete online (paid) training within 5 days.
  • Must complete 14 hours of online training (paid) remotely.
  • TB test and fingerprints as required based on background check are necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with memory care (dementia and/or Alzheimer's) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one care in a client's home or place of residence.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Help with mobility and transfers.
  • Prepare meals and snacks, and assist with feeding.
  • Provide medication assistance and monitor medication use.
  • Sort and organize mail, and assist with bill paying.
  • Monitor and record the client's physical condition and behavioral changes.
  • Report changes in the client's condition to the RN and office.
  • Perform light household chores such as laundry and housekeeping.
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for clients.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients.
  • Respect the client's rights and maintain confidentiality.
  • Provide transportation for client errands and grocery shopping.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
