About The Position

The Bilingual Member Loyalty Representative/Sales role at Oportun is focused on providing exceptional customer service and support to members in the Gilroy, CA area. This position is integral to the company's mission of empowering low-income communities by helping individuals access financial services. Representatives will engage with members, educate them about available services, and participate in community outreach efforts. The role requires a passion for helping others and a commitment to embodying the company's core values.

Requirements

  • Must love sales and helping customers.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • Must be available to work Saturdays with no set schedule, with changes on a weekly basis.
  • 1 year of customer service experience is required.
  • 1 year of sales experience is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cashier or hospitality roles is a plus.
  • Ability to commute to Gilroy, CA 95020 is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome members with a warm greeting and provide quality customer service.
  • Seamlessly process all transactions while following company policies and procedures.
  • Work as a team to meet and exceed daily goals in lending activities.
  • Assist with community outreach and marketing events, including distributing flyers and educating the community.
  • Be a role model for Oportun's values: On a Mission, As One, to Make it Better, Now.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including trash collection, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning windows as needed.
