About The Position

As a Back-End Clerk at Lowe’s, you will play a crucial role in delivering quality customer service while ensuring the store is clean, safe, and stocked with necessary products. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers during returns, ensuring merchandise meets quality and safety standards, and processing returns efficiently. You will engage in safe work processes, including the proper disposal of returned items, and ensure that merchandise is accurately accounted for and prepared for customers. Additionally, you will validate the movement of merchandise in and out of the store, process returns, manage procedures related to Centralized Return to Vendor, and handle paperwork for shipments. This role requires effective communication with customers, vendors, and manufacturers, and the ability to have difficult conversations. Being organized and detail-oriented is essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction).
  • Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience processing and filing merchandise receiving paperwork.
  • 1 year of experience with store inventory receiving and administration.
  • 6 months of experience in warehouse data entry/bookkeeping.
  • 6 months of experience communicating with vendors OR customers regarding returns, payments, or contract fulfillment.
  • 6 months of retail experience accepting or processing returns.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting customer needs during returns and helping find correct product replacements.
  • Ensuring merchandise meets Lowe’s quality and safety standards and processing returns efficiently.
  • Engaging in safe work processes including the proper disposal of returned items.
  • Ensuring merchandise is accurately accounted for, replenished, and prepared for customers.
  • Validating that the correct merchandise is being moved in and out of the store when appropriate.
  • Processing returns and managing procedures related to Centralized Return to Vendor.
  • Contacting vendors for replacement/credit and returning merchandise to the floor.
  • Scheduling shipments when necessary and checking the quality and accuracy of orders.
  • Communicating with customers, vendors, and manufacturers.
