About The Position

The Assistant Manager at Amazon is responsible for leading a team to ensure high levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance during shifts. This role is crucial in maintaining customer expectations and ensuring timely delivery of orders. The Assistant Manager will collaborate with various support teams and manage workflows across different operational components, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of Amazon's logistics operations.

Requirements

• High School or equivalent diploma
• 6+ months of leadership experience in a retail, distribution, or similar environment

Nice To Haves

• Experience managing a team of 10+ employees or 1+ year of experience directly managing others
• Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen)
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate team members
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Collaborate with support teams including Safety, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, and Human Resources to meet business objectives
• Lift up to 49 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching during shifts
• Work in varying noise levels and temperatures, including refrigerated environments
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or overnight shifts
