About The Position

St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students each year.   • Football knowledge required and playing experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Coach in the planning, organization, and administration of the football program.
  • Coach a specific position as assigned by the Head Football Coach.
  • Adhere to all NCAA, conference, and institutional guidelines, policies, and rules.
  • Demonstrate leadership and professional behavior when dealing with student-athletes.
  • Maintain positive constructive working relationships with student-athletes, athletics department coaches and staff, and all members of the University community.
  • Promote the Football program in a positive way.
  • Recruiting (30%): Correspond via mailings, phone calls, and emails; support recruit visits; attend off-campus recruiting events; work with admissions office to recruit student athletes.
  • Football Team Management Support (45%): Specific position practice plans and execution; assist in practice planning, organization, and on-the-field coaching; assist in game preparations including film breakdown and review; help supervise the team during away contests; organize and participate in fund-raising activities.
  • Oversee academic, moral, ethical and athletic development of the student-athletes (5%).
  • Game Management & other administrative tasks as assigned by department (20%).
  • Complete yearly NCAA rules test.
