The Assistant Customer Service Manager at Harris Teeter is responsible for supervising up to 120 associates in the Customer Service Department, which includes cashiers, baggers, customer service clerks, and the accounting office. This role involves assisting the Department Manager with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments. Key responsibilities include performing floor monitor duties, interviewing and training associates, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. The Assistant Manager must ensure compliance with the Customer Service Store Visit Audit and Loss Prevention Front End Audit, providing immediate coaching and feedback to associates as necessary. Additionally, the Assistant Manager may perform duties of customer service clerks, accounting office associates, cashiers, and baggers as appropriate.

  • 1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence in English.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Knowledge of HT Internet software.
  • Familiarity with inventory software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
  • Pay range between $16.00/hour and $29.75/hour depending on experience.
