About The Position

As an Asset Protection Agent (APA) at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in delivering quality customer service while ensuring the store is clean, safe, and stocked with necessary products. Your responsibilities will include coaching and training store associates and leaders on identifying and deterring external theft through the implementation of Lowe's shrink programs. You will monitor merchandise, customer, and associate activity, reporting any infractions to store and AP leadership. Additionally, you will work to prevent inventory shrinkage and deter criminal activity by coordinating efforts with senior management to identify key merchandise and stores impacted by external threats. You will leverage data and resources to create plans to address exposures and support investigations related to criminal activity in accordance with local, state, and federal laws or company policy. The role may occasionally require you to respond to potentially violent situations, necessitating quick decision-making and composure.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Psychology or Criminal Justice OR High School Diploma/equivalent with 1 year relevant work experience.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Criminal Justice, Safety, or related loss prevention / asset protection field.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting retail investigations.
  • Experience in using physical security systems (e.g., CCTV, EAS).
  • Experience in investigations with Organized Crime and asset protection.
  • National certified training program (e.g., Wicklander-Zuwalski or Reed training).
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., APQ, APC) or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching and training Store Associates and Leaders on identifying and deterring external theft.

  • Supporting investigations of company policies and procedures.
