About The Position

The Addiction Therapist at Evelyn Brandon Health Center is responsible for providing comprehensive addiction diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, case management, and both individual and group counseling for clients dealing with chemical dependency. This role is integral to a clinical team and is supervised by a staff psychiatrist, ensuring a collaborative approach to client care.

Requirements

• Associates, Bachelors, or Master's Degree in a Human service field required.
• CASAC, OASAS QHP required; LMHC-P (Permit) or CASAC-T permitted with the condition that full certification is obtained within 24 months.
• Completion of a clinical internship in chemical dependency or at least one (1) year of work experience in chemical dependency.
• Compassionate, understanding, and thoughtful demeanor.
• Extremely organized with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial and ongoing assessment for clients to determine diagnosis and appropriate level of care.
• Deliver individual, family, and group counseling to engage and motivate clients throughout their treatment journey.
• Develop individualized and culturally sensitive treatment plans for clients.
• Communicate effectively with other care providers and referral sources to enhance understanding of client issues and strengths; participate in professional supervision and education to support continuous improvement of client care.
