About The Position

The 1st Shift Caregiver is responsible for assisting in the daily living activities, monitoring, and supervision of the residents. This role includes performing housekeeping, life enrichment, and dining tasks as required. The caregiver represents Frontida well and promotes its culture, which emphasizes treating others as you would like to be treated.

Requirements

  • Must complete the probationary period successfully.
  • Must be able to be flexible and work alone if necessary.
  • Desired: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CBRF Training completed.
  • Must actively demonstrate Frontida’s culture and exhibit extraordinary care toward Frontida’s residents.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Frontida with professionalism, embracing Frontida’s culture.
  • Assist residents in activities of daily living (i.e., toileting, bathing, eating, etc. per individualized service plan).
  • Assist in maintenance of physical Community daily (i.e., cleaning, straightening, laundry, dishes, etc.).
  • Assist semi-ambulatory residents with transfers and personal care, which may require lifting and gait-belt use.
  • Cook meals and provide snacks for the residents, following the menu plan.
  • Communicate facility needs list to the Executive Director/House Manager.
  • Put groceries away, ensuring all items are properly dated and stored.
  • Monitor and chart administration of residents’ medications as applicable.
  • Document accidents and incidents using incident reporting form in electronic record and report all incidents or observed concerns to Executive Director/Designee.
  • Document resident daily observations (i.e., daily activities, behaviors, changes, etc.).
  • Facilitate daily activities, in accordance with life enrichment schedule.
  • Provide comfort and companionship to the residents, treating all residents with dignity, warmth, and respect.
  • Communicate concerns to the Executive Director/designee immediately.
  • Call 911 if the resident is in distress.
  • Follow emergency procedures if an emergency occurs.
  • Work scheduled shifts as assigned; if unable, contact supervisor immediately.
  • Attend mandatory monthly staff meetings and training as requested by the Executive Director/House Manager.
  • Be available for occasional hours at another Frontida community location.
  • Read any new or updated ISP’s on an as-needed basis.
  • Clear all walkways of snow, ice, or any other debris.
  • Provide 24-hour awake care for residents.
  • Follow all guidelines according to DHS 83.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/House Manager.
