About The Position

As a Software Engineering Intern at GE Healthcare for our MIM Commercialized Web Applications team, you will contribute to our web applications sold to customers – MIMcloud and MIM Anyware. MIMcloud is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) web application which enables secure, HIPAA-compliant cloud-based storage and exchange of medical images between clinical facilities. MIM Anyware is an on-premise web application which virtualizes access to our main desktop medical imaging application (MIM) through a web browser. What You'll Do Contribute full-stack changes to the codebases of MIMcloud and/or MIM Anyware. Document code, design specifications, and cybersecurity threat models Test code and write unit tests Work closely with experienced software engineers, including a personal mentor Learn about software engineering principles in an industry environment Learn about engineering best practices for development of regulated medical software Work on real features with a real-world impact on customers Technologies MIMcloud Languages: Kotlin, Java, TypeScript, HTML, SASS/CSS Frameworks: KTOR, React, JUnit Database: PostgreSQL Amazon Web Services: ECS, Lambda, RDS, and S3 Tooling: Git, GitLab, IntelliJ IDEA, Gradle, and Docker Containers MIM Anyware Languages: Java, Scala, TypeScript, HTML, SASS/CSS Frameworks: Play! Requirements

  • Some experience writing code in coursework, projects, or previous internships
  • An active pursuit of a bachelor's degree, preferably for computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or physics
  • General problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical thinking
  • Communication and organization skills
  • An aptitude for math and science
  • An existing understanding of medical imaging is not required
