We at John Hancock / Manulife are hiring for 2 Full-stack software engineers to support Digital Correspondence, Paper Reduction, and Operational efficiency. Position Responsibilities: Develop and maintain clean, well-documented, and efficient code for both the front-end (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end (your preferred server-side language, .NET/C#). Be responsible for your work and the progress of your team, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Work with product managers and other engineers to define technical requirements. Collaborate with designers to curate an idea user experience. Design and build scalable and secure APIs. Implement robust and efficient databases. Solve and debug complex technical issues. Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality. Pair program with other engineers on the team. Stay up to date on the latest development technologies and trends.   • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Mentoring experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
  • Proficiency in C# and/or Java
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of front-end and back-end development principles
  • Excellent fixing and debugging skills with a collaborative approach to timely resolution and communication on after action
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to assess requirements and provide technical solutioning options and level of effort estimates
  • Continuous learning mentality and advocate for positive change
  • Experience with Azure, AKS on Azure, or other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP)
  • Experience with DevOps principles and tools
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Experience with project tracking software (e.g. Jira)
