In this role, you’ll work across the stack, developing intuitive user interfaces and robust backend services, as well as features that enable insights at the speed of mission. You’ll collaborate closely with data engineers, DevOps engineers, and other developers to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions. As part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team, you’ll play a hands-on role in designing and building solutions that directly impact users. You’ll collaborate closely with both end users and fellow technologists to ensure our tools and applications truly meet customer needs.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI with CI poly (or willingness to obtain a CI poly)
8+ years of technical experience in: Front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue)
8+ years of technical experience in: Backend development (e.g., Python, Java, Javascript, R, Node.js, or similar)
8+ years of technical experience in: Designing and consuming RESTful APIs
8+ years of technical experience in: Databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)
Capable of working effectively with a geographically distributed ops & development team
Communicate effectively with customers and team in written and oral forums
Degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Math, GIS.

Nice To Haves

Strong Linux skills and familiarity with hybrid cloud/on-prem architecture, AWS, C2S, Openstack, etc.
Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Hadoop)
Experience with big data technologies such as Kubernetes, Spark, Hive, and/or Hadoop, Accumulo, ElasticSearch
Experience with Apache NiFi, Apache Airflow, or Kafka
Experience working with open-source resources in a government computing environment
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain features for a big data analytics platform
Build responsive front-end applications and scalable backend APIs/services
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
Integrate with large-scale data pipelines and distributed systems
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
Work onsite in a SCIF environment 80% or as needs dictate in either Herndon, VA or Westminster, CO
