The ideal candidate is a versatile and independent technologist with strong problem-solving abilities, experience working across complex codebases, and the ability to contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle. You will work in a collaborative Agile environment, contributing to system enhancements, application development, data integration activities, and modernization efforts.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on software application or systems development experience.
Strong proficiency in both procedural and object‑oriented programming, including familiarity with common design patterns.
Experience working within large, complex codebases spanning the full technology stack.
Ability to complete assignments independently with minimal oversight.
Strong communication skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively in team environments.
A self‑driven learner with a commitment to staying current with emerging technologies.

Nice To Haves

Experience with modern web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web APIs, JSON, Angular or React.
Experience with server‑side technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, Express.js, Webpack, NPM, or equivalents.
Familiarity with functional or event-driven programming (callbacks, streaming, reactive programming, Promises/Futures).
Experience working in Linux environments, including shell programming.
Working knowledge of Python and libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, or scikit‑learn.
Experience with SQL, NoSQL (MongoDB), or Elasticsearch, and data pipelines or ETL processes.
Familiarity with Common Data Elements (CDEs) or healthcare/medical terminologies.
Knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, including cloud‑agnostic architectures.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain full‑stack applications in support of mission‑critical federal systems.
Work across front‑end and back‑end components, ensuring seamless integration and performant code.
Analyze requirements, propose technical solutions, and deliver enhancements with minimal supervision.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including developers, analysts, architects, and QA—to support high‑quality software delivery.
Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and architectural decisions.
Support data workflows, integration processes, and system modernization efforts.
Troubleshoot issues across the stack and provide timely resolution.
Stay current with modern development practices, frameworks, and technologies.
