About The Position

The Digital Shared Services team is looking for a highly motivated Full Stack Engineer to be part of its dynamic, globally distributed team of IT professionals responsible for the development and maintenance of Fidelity’s WI Digital Shared Services platform. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will use innovative technologies to provide first class digital experience for our clients and customers. You will be involved in building or enhancing 401k business capabilities in Fidelity’s Workplace Investing business domain. In an agile structure, you will collaborate with other technology and business teams to establish our development standards, be part of strategic decisions and build solutions across business capabilities. You are committed to developing your own expertise and bringing the latest thinking to empower others on our team with that knowledge. Our team focuses on building scalable and innovative solutions that help millions of Fidelity’s customers plan & invest for retirement, manage, and transact from their 401k accounts. This position is based out of Durham, North Carolina.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related technology discipline
  • 3+ years of software development experience on business critical, enterprise-wide applications
  • Strong knowledge of .NET coding practices for mid-tier applications that perform business logic and calculations. Note: This role is not for UI/Front end developers.
  • Expertise in building scalable, server-side enterprise applications, domain logic intensive RESTful APIs
  • Expertise in designing, developing and maintaining high-volume transactional systems
  • Experience in developing cloud neutral applications in AWS and Azure
  • Ability to debug through legacy systems and capture current state to aid with modernization
  • Actively participates in and contributes to formal reviews of architecture, design and code
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player and collaborator

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge building Java APIs is a plus.
  • Experience with Mainframe applications is a plus.
  • Experience building technology solutions in the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Experience in design patterns & principles such as OO, DD, SOA, Microservices etc.
  • Experience developing skills in Java, Spring MVC, Spring Core, Spring Boot is a plus
  • Experience developing software utilizing relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server or Sybase)
  • CICD experience using Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
  • Experience with Test automation for unit, functional and non-functional testing (SOATEST, SOASTA, Cucumber)

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing RESTful APIs in .NET
  • Collaboration with producer and consumer teams to implement end-to-end solutions
  • Ability to develop technical artifacts based on analysis of business and systems requirements
  • Aptitude to discover/document implementations from legacy systems, C++, Java. .NET, as part of re- platform
  • Provides support for software releases into production environments
  • Fosters teamwork and collaboration across global development teams, business and systems partners.
