Full-stack Engineer
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced full stack engineer who has successfully developed and shipped web applications, preferably in a startup environment to help build and scale a video sharing and collaboration platform. About us: The Surgical Data Science Collective (SDSC) is a nonprofit on a mission to unlock the power of surgical data. We bring together surgeons, scientists, and engineers to turn surgical videos into searchable, data-rich tools. Using AI, we help uncover insights that improve technique, sharpen decision-making, and elevate patient care. From smarter metrics to secure video libraries, we give surgical teams the tools to ask better questions—and find better answers. Because when surgeons get better, patients do too.
Requirements
- Experience with Node.js, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- 5 years of experience in full stack development
Nice To Haves
- Experience in building and/or scaling video sharing platforms
- Experience with machine learning tools and techniques
- Experience releasing products in regulated environments
- Experience with data security, privacy and compliance
Responsibilities
- Work across the backend and frontend to develop a video sharing web application
- Work with tech leads and leadership on defining project deliverables and development estimates
- Own features end-to-end from technical design, implementation, deployment and maintenance
- Propose and implement engineering best practices
