About The Position

Join Us in Building the Future of Home Robotics At Sunday, we're developing personal robots to reclaim the hours lost to repetitive tasks. We're focused on an ambitious goal to make generalized robots broadly accessible, enabling households to take back quality time. We have spent the last 18 months building a talented team, securing capital, and validating our technology. We are now seeking passionate individuals to join us in the next phase of our growth. If you are ready to apply your skills to the forefront of robotics innovation, we’d love to hear from you. What to Expect As a Full Stack Engineer for Robot Management, you are responsible for the "Mission Control" of our fleet. You will architect the infrastructure that allows us to securely identify, access, and manage our robots at scale. Because our robots operate in private homes, your work sits at the critical intersection of high-availability systems, rigorous security, and user privacy. Startup Fluidity: While this role focuses on Robot Management, we operate in a high-growth environment. You should be comfortable with shifting priorities and jumping into other parts of the stack as we scale.

Requirements

  • Full-Stack Proficiency: Expert-level TypeScript/Python and React.
  • Reliability Mindset: Experience building systems where "downtime" or security vulnerabilities have real-world physical consequences.
  • IoT/Edge Intuition: A strong understanding of secure remote access, device state synchronization, and handling intermittent connectivity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a founding or early hire; able to define roadmaps where no blueprint exists.
  • Experience with Zero Trust architectures, PKI, or managing device-level certificates at scale.
  • Familiarity with large-scale IoT fleets, robotics middleware and over-the-air update delivery systems.
  • Proficiency with Docker and containerization strategies for deploying and managing edge services.

Responsibilities

  • Fleet Identity & Security: Design and implement robust robot authentication and registration systems, ensuring secure "handshakes" between our cloud and hardware in the field.
  • Observability & Health: Build the centralized telemetry and alerting systems that monitor robot availability, hardware health, and system performance across the global fleet.
  • Privacy-First Infrastructure: Develop the systems that manage data privacy and residency, ensuring that as we deploy into homes, our fleet remains a trusted and secure presence.
