Develop, enhance, and maintain Drupal 10/11 applications supporting SAMHSA’s digital modernization efforts. Build and extend custom Drupal modules, themes, and APIs for integration with AWS, Kendra search, and other data services. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Manage work using Jira and maintain technical documentation in Confluence. Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility, security, and federal web standards (USWDS). Collaborate with UI/UX designers, DevOps, and QA engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and performant solutions. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend and frontend code for reliability and performance. Support CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments across development, staging, and production environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 5–7 years of full stack development experience, including 3+ years of Drupal development (Drupal 9/10/11).
  • Proficiency in: Drupal core, custom module/theme development, Composer, and Drush; PHP 8.x, Twig, and Symfony; JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and modern frontend build tools; MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL database design and query optimization; RESTful and GraphQL APIs; Git, Bitbucket, and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred) and Docker-based local development.
  • Working knowledge of security best practices, accessibility (WCAG 2.1/Section 508), and USWDS.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced Agile environment and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Federal IT project experience.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services and automation tools.
  • Professional certifications relevant to the role.
  • Knowledge of secure coding and vulnerability remediation practices.
