IGS is currently recruiting for a remote Full Stack Developer to support our work with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This program is a transformative initiative by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs aimed at modernizing and streamlining access to VA data and services through secure, reliable, and scalable APIs. As a member of the team, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting API solutions that empower veterans, partners, and internal stakeholders to access critical information and services efficiently.   • Design and implement user interfaces using frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Translate UI/UX designs into functional, responsive, and interactive web pages.
  • Optimize web applications for speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Collaborate with designers to ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Maintain code quality through best practices, code reviews, and testing.
  • Develop server-side logic using languages such as Python, Java, or .NET.
  • Build and maintain RESTful or GraphQL APIs to support front-end functionality.
  • Integrate with SQL and NoSQL databases for data storage, retrieval, and management.
  • Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms for secure access.
  • Monitor and optimize performance of server-side processes.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack.
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software reliability.
  • Document technical specifications and maintain up-to-date documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and Product Management.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer science or a related field.
  • 4+ years’ experience in software development, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Experience with build tools and preprocessors such as Webpack, Sass, or Less.
  • Experience with Node.js, Express, Python (Django/Flask), Java (Spring), .NET, or Ruby on Rails.
  • Hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
  • Proficient with Git and platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
  • Experience with testing tools such as Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, Selenium, or Cypress.
  • Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms like AWS.
  • Familiarity with VA Lighthouse infrastructure, tools, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Active VA Public Trust.
  • Prior experience supporting federal agencies, especially the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Familiarity with VA Lighthouse tools and infrastructure.
  • Certifications in full stack development, cloud technologies, or secure software development.
  • Prior, successful experience working in a remote environment.
