The Alameda County Information Technology Department (ITD) is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join their team as an Application Systems Engineer II. This position is primarily focused on supporting the Social Services Agency within Alameda County. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full stack development, particularly with Microsoft .NET technologies, and will be expected to engage in hands-on development work. The role requires a solid understanding of agile methodologies, system analysis, and design, as well as proficiency in relational databases, especially SQL Server. The developer will be responsible for writing high-quality, maintainable code and will work closely with users to gather business requirements and define software solutions. In this role, the Full Stack Developer will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from analyzing and designing software solutions to developing and maintaining web applications. The candidate will also be expected to upgrade or rewrite legacy systems and implement Microservices architecture in an Azure environment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential, as is mentoring junior developers and participating in code reviews to ensure a high-quality codebase. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, with 60% of the time spent in the office and 40% remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining team collaboration. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in object-oriented design, design patterns, and SOLID principles, and will have experience optimizing front-end code for performance. Additionally, the role requires strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts and project progress to various stakeholders. The Full Stack Developer will also be responsible for managing project plans and documentation, ensuring that projects are completed on time and meet the required standards.
