About The Position

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Full Stack / AI Software Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location. PeopleTec hires and develops top technology talent, placing them on impactful client projects across the United States. We specialize in Digital Transformation, Cloud Services, DevSecOps, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Intelligence (BI), Data Science, and Machine Learning (ML) initiatives in both the federal and commercial sectors. This role combines expertise in full-stack development with emerging AI technologies to design, build, and scale cutting-edge platforms, including a data mesh framework that empowers domains to manage and share data as products. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable developing robust software solutions and integrating modern AI/ML capabilities into enterprise systems.

Requirements

• 5-10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Streamlit.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies (LLMs, RAG, MCPs).
• Experience with full-stack development: TypeScript, Node.js, Express, React.
• Understanding of distributed systems, system design, and modern data platforms (Kafka, Spark, cloud data services).
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Experience with DevOps tools and agile development practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across diverse teams.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Active DoD Secret clearance (required upon hire) and ability to maintain clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with agile methodologies, including sprint planning and backlog grooming.
• Familiarity with GitLab for code repositories and pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong leadership skills with ability to drive adoption of new technologies and practices.
• Located in or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance software and data architectures.
• Apply domain-driven design principles to align technical solutions with business domains.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Integrate AI capabilities (LLMs, MCPs, RAG pipelines) into software solutions.
• Develop APIs and backend systems using Python (FastAPI, Django, etc.).
• Build and maintain scalable web applications using TypeScript, Node.js, Express, and React.
• Create responsive, dynamic user interfaces with modern UI frameworks.
• Optimize data flow, processing, and application performance across distributed systems.
• Implement DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code.
• Support robust data governance practices to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance.
• Research and apply advancements in AI/ML to solve real-world business and mission challenges.
