About The Position
The position requires candidates with TS/SCI Full Scope Poly clearance and specific language abilities. Candidates will undergo a language test to determine their final level placement in various linguistic roles. The roles available include Mandarin Linguist (any level), Russian Linguist (Senior), Ukrainian Linguist (Senior), Khmer Linguist (any level), Spanish Linguist (Senior), German Linguist (Senior), Greek Language Instructor (Senior), Italian Language Instructor (Senior), Japanese Language Instructor (Senior), Spanish with Portuguese Linguist (all levels), Swahili Part Time Language Instructor, and Turkish Language Instructor (Senior). Each of these roles demands proficiency in the respective languages, with varying levels of expertise required for different positions. The job is categorized into four levels: Journeyman, Primary, Senior, and Expert. The Journeyman level involves performing a limited range of activities related to processing material for translation and interpretation, specifically in speaking and listening tasks as per the Interagency Language Roundtable standards. However, the Journeyman is not responsible for completing finished translations or transcriptions. The operational experience required at this level is none to limited. At the Primary level, candidates are expected to perform a full range of activities in processing material or participating in situations that require a general professional capability in the relevant disciplines. Similar to the Journeyman level, the operational experience with the sponsor is none to limited. The Senior level requires candidates to perform a full range of activities in processing material or participating in situations that necessitate an advanced professional capability. Candidates at this level must have a minimum of three years of operational experience with the sponsor, although this requirement can be waived depending on individual component needs. Finally, the Expert level involves performing a full range of activities in processing material or participating in situations that require a high level of capability in the relevant professional disciplines. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of operational experience with the sponsor, which can also be waived based on specific component requirements.
