The Operations Manager is responsible for building a team of high-performing Supervisors in a fast-paced fulfillment environment. This role is responsible for delivering and executing daily and short-term plans to achieve operational and business objectives.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Must have at least 5-7 years of leadership experience preferably in a fulfillment operation or distribution environment; Prior supervisory experience in a fulfillment operation is preferred
  • Must have experience with an Order Management System, Warehouse Management System, and/or Labor Management System.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to adjust strategy on the fly while functioning in a high-stress environment to obtain operational goals
  • Ability to understand the life cycle of the fulfillment business and how it pertains to each unique customer
  • Ability to build a cohesive team that exemplifies SCLS’ values and operates to support SCLS’ mission statement
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to identify and understand problems, challenges, and opportunities by analyzing and comparing data to reach a proper conclusion
  • Ability and passion to deliver excellent customer service and develop mutually benefiting relationships with all partners
  • Ability to influence change management and operational performance from areas outside of his/her direct control
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and set priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience in a fulfillment operation is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple Fulfillment Supervisors, Warehouse Leads, full-time/temporary associates
  • Build and manage a relationship with customers by maintaining regular communication and partnership.
  • Maintain safety, customer service, and productivity standards daily.
  • Promote constant and measurable improvement; teach and enforce SCLS’ Quality Policy at all times.
  • Communicate to operations’ staff in areas such as: objectives, policies, procedures, safety methods, practices, programs, etc.
  • Create and maintain inventory control, audit and cycle count procedures, ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform, maintain, track and report inventory adjustment and relevant findings.
  • Recommend operational process improvements and develop strategies to enhance performance, systems, accuracy levels and inventory touch points.
  • Manage the overall performance of the supply chain related to inventory accuracy and control.
  • Lead definition and deployment of physical inventory count methodology.
  • Manage integrity of inventory data in enterprise resource planning (ERP) and warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Define and implement inventory control key productivity indicators (KPI’s)
  • Develop standard operating procedures and business processes related to inventory control activities.
  • Manage inventory claims process and support inventory loss investigations.
  • Develop inventory reporting management dashboards.
  • Implement improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory shrinkage and maximize turns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
