We are looking for a Fulfillment Lead to work in our Distribution Center. The Fulfillment Lead is a champion of safety and operational excellence. This role directs daily warehouse activities to ensure all outbound orders are accurately picked, stickered, counted, verified, secured, and prepared for shipment. The Team Lead supports efficient workflow execution and ensures every shipment meets or exceeds customer requirements for accuracy, quality, and timeliness.

Requirements

  • Generally, a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Fulfillment operations, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong background in data entry and general computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team.
  • Knowledge of warehouse best practices, including picking methods, inventory rotation, and (add anything else that would be applicable).
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and requirements for warehouse environments.
  • Strong communication and cross collaboration skills.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Ability to troubleshoot order routing or system errors and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Ability to obtain OFD Foods forklift certification required within 3 months (on-the-job training provided).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using an ERP system preferred.
  • Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) order processing preferred (SPS Commerce system).
  • Familiarity with various warehouse management systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize personal and food safety as the highest objective, modeling safe behavior and actively leading the team toward company safety goals.
  • Provide clear, daily direction and coaching to Order Fulfillment employees to ensure safe, accurate, and consistent workflow execution.
  • Oversee and train staff across a wide range of warehouse functions, including transporting, storing, receiving, shipping, and preparing food and non‑food products, equipment, and materials.
  • Perform and support all tasks related to receiving, picking, packing, loading, and shipping orders, ensuring team pick‑rate expectations are met.
  • Process and oversee small parcel, international, and hazmat shipments using required specialized software and procedures.
  • Ensure shipments requiring special handling—such as SPS/EDI transactions or customer‑specific coding or labeling are completed accurately with all necessary documentation.
  • Identify and reduce sources of shipment errors, including mis‑picks, mis‑ships, and incorrect routing.
  • Oversee and perform Kitting, Rework, and Repack operations as required within the Distribution Center.
  • Utilize the M3 ERP system to investigate inventory and allocation discrepancies, supporting accurate stock management.
  • Utilize the M3 ERP system to monitor and prioritize order picking to ensure shipments leave by their expected shipment date.
  • Collaborate with DC Transportation Specialists, Clerks, and Carriers to ensure smooth operations and timely shipments.
  • Communicate cross‑functionally with Customer Service, QA, Marketing, and various other teams across the organization.
  • Support additional tasks or assignments in other functional areas at the direction of the Order Processing Supervisor or Distribution Center Manager.
  • Maintain warehouse conditions that meet or exceed USDA/FDA and customer‑specific requirements, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
  • Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance on a full‑time basis.
  • Exhibit professional behavior with internal and external business associates, representing the company positively and in alignment with policies and practices.
