About The Position

The Fulfillment Center Operation Supervisor for the 2nd Shift at Staples is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, driving efficiency, and fostering a safe work environment. This role involves managing hourly associates, planning departmental activities, and collaborating with other leaders to meet performance goals and improve processes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 1+ year of experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent legally permissible.
• Ability to lift, lower, push, pull or carry product up to a maximum of 70 pounds by hand.
• Ability to accurately calculate and plan and adjust headcount required to meet department's objectives.
• Ability to foster communication and teamwork among staff and collaborate with all team members.
• Understanding of and ability to use Fulfillment/Distribution technology (i.e. WMS).
• Ability to adopt safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices.
• Ability to demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving.
• Inclusive nature that seeks common ground and advocates for the best solutions.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and manage hourly associates to achieve performance goals, productivity, accuracy, and quality control standards.
• Lead the team in daily, weekly, and monthly planning of departmental activities.
• Make recommendations and improvements to department processes and procedures.
• Participate in the hiring, training, and coaching of associates.
• Use operational reports to evaluate department performance and ensure expectations are met.
• Collaborate with the Fulfillment Center Team Manager and other management to operate within guidelines and partner for success.
• Ensure safe work practices and foster a safety culture.
