The Fugitive Apprehension Agent position involves conducting investigations related to criminal activities within state correctional facilities, including violent actions, financial crimes, or chemicals/substances. Agents coordinate and participate in undercover investigations, raids, and surveillance of individuals or locations believed to harbor escaped offenders. They are responsible for obtaining and executing arrests and search warrants, preparing affidavits for District Attorneys, and maintaining records of escapees. The role also includes notifying law enforcement agencies of escapes and assisting the agency's Legal Division with ongoing cases. Agents collect information to assess threats posed by inmates and threat groups within the Department of Corrections (DOC).
