What are we looking for? Under general supervision, the Fuels Technician oversees and maintains fueling activities and fuel systems throughout the company. Assists in maintaining a fuel inventory. This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.

Requirements

High School or GED required.
Basic mechanical skills and experience with tools
Computer skills: proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word.
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record required
Must be available to work overtime and weekends for short notice assignments.
Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats.
Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties.
Must be customer focused and quality driven.
Ability to travel as business needs dictate.

Nice To Haves

DOT & IATA certification.
Fuel receiving experience.
Mechanical skills; plumbing fuel lines, replacing gauges, valves.

Responsibilities

Receives fuel deliveries via tanker truck. Completes delivery paperwork.
Be proficient with Fuel inventory management and software.
Maintain Daily, Monthly fuel inventory.
Performs fuel transfers as required to maintain engine lab operations.
Takes fuel samples for analysis.
Maintains the tote area for proper operation, maintenance, and cleanliness
Inspects fuel lines for leaks or damage. Notifies Mechanical Systems if repairs are needed.
Assists engineers with special fuel needs.
Performs periodic inspections of tanks and observation wells.
Operate forklift as required.
Responsible for complying with departmental ISO and Safety procedures.
Assist performing a wash out for underground tanks.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
