About The Position

The Fuels Specialist supports the VP of Fuels in overseeing daily fuel operations, managing store fuel deliveries, and maintaining accurate inventory data and reporting to achieve optimal fuel pricing and profit margins.
This position reports directly to the VP of Fuels and has no direct reports. Weekend availability (Home Office or remote) is required, along with annual travel that includes overnight accommodations.

The Fuels Specialist plays a key role in maintaining uninterrupted fuel supply across retail locations while supporting pricing strategy, financial reconciliation, and regulatory pricing. The individual works under general supervision while exercising some independent judgement in managing inventory controls and fuel distribution logistics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Foundational knowledge of oil and gas or fuel operations preferred
• Experience in logistics, inventory management, and fuel distribution preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments
• Strong time management, conflict resolution skills, and ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment

• Preferred proficiency in PDI, PriceEasy, Warren Rodgers Fuel Inventory, and TelaPoint

Responsibilities

• Monitor store fuel inventory to maintain optimal supply levels and prevent shortages or outages
• Coordinate and dispatch fuel deliveries while optimizing distribution schedules
• Enter and reconcile fuel and freight invoices in PDI and manage supplier EFT transactions and Commerce account
• Prepare and distribute fuel sales and margin reports to leadership
• Partner with Store Managers and Territory Supervisors to resolve fuels and tank discrepancies, including BOL entries, gallon reporting accuracy, and stick reading variances
• Monitor fuel pricing markets (NYMEX, OPIS, and Argus) to support purchasing and margin strategy
• Manage retail pricing strategies across multiple markets
• Ensure accurate terminal reporting, tax-per-gallon reporting, and year-end fuel invoice reconciliation
