As a Fueling & Service Driver, your primary objective is the delivery and full service of company rental equipment to job sites/events and the refueling of diesel light towers. This is an entry level position which requires mechanical aptitude and physically able to work in various weather conditions. Climb and lift ladders, be able to work around cleaning products and equipment for chemical toilet service and repair. What you’ll do: Work closely with departments and managers to address and repair issues with company assets/equipment. Work closely with Dispatch to determine the equipment’s order priority and accurately complete delivery/return logs. Deliver, retrieve, and move equipment (light towers, shower trailers, cooling trailers, guard shacks, generators, trash trailers, combo trailers, office trailers, porta johns, etc.). Fuel equipment on location as necessary. Follow and apply prescribed safety procedures and comply with federal laws. Follow appropriate safety procedures when transporting or handling equipment. Communicate with the dispatcher on the status of job orders. Communicate with management and other workers via telephone, or radio telephones. Promote available company services and products. Promote clean and safe working conditions. Knowledgeable and supportive of all company policies and directives. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Effective communication, organization, and planning skills
  • Team player with ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with ability to multi-task
  • Follow oral and written instructions, use proper judgment
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including but not limited to hot and cold climates, wet and unstable grounds, highly humid, or dry areas
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time; move fingers and hands, ability to stoop, crawl, bend, twist, reach, and crouch
  • Lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
  • This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
