Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast, friendly service.
  • Model positive customer, associate, and vendor relations in all interactions.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques to support sales growth.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly; resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate to the Store Director when required.
  • Oversee total Fuel Center operations, including planning, organizing, and directing daily activities.
  • Conduct daily inspections and initiate corrective actions to ensure compliance with pump maintenance, safety, and security requirements.
  • Maintain proper fuel pump cleaning and maintenance procedures.
  • Comply with and enforce Fuel Center operating guidelines, including environmental and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Complete all required reports accurately and on time.
  • Implement emergency procedures in the event of pump, equipment, or software malfunctions.
  • Maintain required certification for Stage 1 Vapor Recovery Controls and a working knowledge of the fuel monitoring system.
  • Comply with fuel pricing procedures, billing requirements, and reconciliation processes.
  • Complete competitive fuel price checks and implement price changes on pumps and signage as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and state inspection guidelines.
  • Accurately operate checkstand equipment including cash registers, integrated fuel systems, electronic payment systems, scanners, and scales.
  • Follow all company cash‑handling, product return, restricted product, coupon, gift card, and WIC policies.
  • Handle all monetary transactions accurately, including cash, charges, gift cards, food stamps, coupons, and refunds.
  • Complete cash drops as required and maintain accurate till organization.
  • Ensure compliance with laws relating to the sale of lottery tickets, gasoline, automotive products, alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages, batteries, candy, and tobacco products.
  • Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness in accordance with division directives.
  • Stock, rotate, and maintain product; organize cooler and storage areas for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain proper temperatures during all phases of product storage, display, and handling.
  • Build displays, rotate product, and remove outdated or spoiled items.
  • Participate in physical inventory every four weeks for applicable products.
  • Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees to ensure adequate coverage and service standards.
  • Train employees on store policies, sales procedures, and record‑keeping expectations.
  • Identify and develop employees with high potential for advancement.
  • Monitor productivity and evaluate employee performance.
  • Initiate personnel actions including interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary measures.
  • Maintain working knowledge of opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate department records including daily/weekly inspections, logs, purchase reports, sales, and labor documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all administrative paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary work environment, including equipment, pumps, and display areas.
  • Comply with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, code‑dating policies, and company operating standards.
  • Follow and enforce company grooming standards and dress code.
